Las Nenas 2019 Pinot Noir

Sta. Rita Hills, California | La Rinconada Vineyard

Purchase

The 2019 Co^lluvial™ “Las Nenas” Pinot Noir bottling is grounded in the majesty of California’s Santa Rita Hills AVA (American Viticultural Area). The fruit is drawn from the La Rinconada Vineyard.  Planted in 1997, La Rinconada sits adjacent to the Sanford & Benedict Vineyard. Home to 20 vineyard blocks and 12 clones, La Rinconada is also primarily Pinot Noir, complemented by some very special Chardonnay vines. This site enjoys the maritime influences of the Pacific Ocean, in particular the fog and cooling winds provide the perfect conditions for a longer growing season. The lower portion of La Rinconada is a sandy loam, which transitions to more clay loam mixed with diatomaceous earth, alluvium soils and shale on the hills closer to Sanford & Benedict.

Tasting Notes

“Rose petal, light cinnamon and strawberry-based fruit-punch aromas show on the nose of this bottling. The palate follows a fine line of red-plum skin, hibiscus and more roses, proving light and tight.” 91 Points – Matt Kettmann – Wine Enthusiast

“A slightly more deeply pitched nose reflects a lovely range of among that include plum, dark cherry, lilac and rose petal. I very much like the inner mouth perfume given off by the lighter weight flavors that possess better depth on the youthfully austere and dusty finish that is supported by nicely fine-grained tannins. This is a deceptively light wine in that it packs very good flavor authority. ” 91/2024+Allen Meadow’s Burghound Issue #87
